Ataphraa Bourour

Nicknames: Aphraa (on the Source), Ata (on the First), Slingshot (by Thancred)Jobs: went through Heavensward and Stormblood as a SMN, now a DRKRomantic Entanglements: (italicized are the ones i write about most) Haurchefant, Aymeric, Estinien, Urianger, Thancred, G'raha Tia.....listen, she's got a lot of love to go around!Personality: Stoic, focused, somewhat severe. Lots of survivor's guilt and imposter syndrome and anxiety. She's become used to feeling like every situation is a survival situation, so thrives under panic, but panics when things are calm. She's very calm under pressure and has the patience of a saint. She's got a lot of control over her emotions, a very well practiced poker face, but that only happened post-Heavensward. Haurchefant's death really took a toll on her and she became a lot more guarded. She's still very open and willing to love, mostly thanks to the support she receives from the found family of the Scions and all of her friends.Physical Appearance Notes: Aphraa's eyes used to be a light lavender purple, but changed after she was infused with Light. Her right eye is a dull gold, while her left is a bright, almost white gold. She is very sensitive to light with her left eye, and chooses to cover it up most of the time. She occasionally dyes the tips of her ears to a particular theme or to match the color choices of one of her partners.General History/Timeline:

Cillian Broderick

Nicknames: Poobs (byTaimi), Hotshot (by Canach in LWS1)Class: MesmerRomantic Entanglements: Trahearne, CanachPersonality:
Growing up among Krytan nobility, he's learned how to fake appearances. At heart he's very self deprecating and unsure, but has risen to the roles thrust upon him. By current in-game day, he's done a lot of work and is less prone to crippling self doubt, though he still struggles with depression and PTSD.Overall, Cillian approaches most things with a smile and a quick joke. He adapts easily to changes, and strategizes on the fly. He's learned to be much calmer on the battlefield, and in a fight he's terrifyingly calculating. There was a time where Cillian would have preferred a calmer life as a bard, but now he doesn't quite know what to do with serenity, and keeps himself busy as a result. He is quick-witted and wisecracking, foolhardy and easygoing. He works hard to be likeable and adaptable, and highly values his friendships.Physical Appearance Notes: He's got a scar over his right eye from when he was attempting to glamor himself and messed up real bad. As a result of that accident, his once-auburn hair is now permanently purple. His stubble is less of a fashion choice and more the consequence of an active, stressful lifestyle.Despite that, he's incredibly conscious of his fashion and style. He prefers to be (relatively) shirtless, as he insists it allows him more freedom of movement when whirling around with an axe. Realistically, he's just a little bit vain and thinks that showing off what he's worked for is quite alright.Character Inspirations:
Howl from Howl's Moving Castle; Jaskier from the Witcher series; Dorian from Dragon Age Inquisition; Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series; Asra from the Arcana visual novelGeneral History/Timeline:BASE GAME:
Cillian grew up in Divinity's Reach, raised by his grandmother on his father's side. He remembers his parents somewhat, enough to remember them fondly, but otherwise he spent his childhood bookish and quiet, eager to distract himself from his grief. He wasn't naturally outgoing, so when he befriended Faren early on, he was grateful for the help of an extrovert when it came to many social situations. As he progressed in his studies with magic and music, his soft spoken demeanor only added to his mystique, and soon even Faren begrudgingly admitted he was impressed by Cillian's affability and charisma.Cillian didn’t enjoy being a mesmer up until that point. He had heard all the gossip about Queen Jennah being a mesmer, and of the inherent duplicity and distrust that mesmers carried with them. But as he saw firsthand the way that deception and illusion could help him—and others—he was eager to take up the mantle. By his 18th birthday, he’d basically committed to the bit, blossoming into the perfect partner in crime for Faren (though significantly less of a ladykiller). He attempted to practice his magic in a mirror one day, to glamor his hair a more noticeable color, resulting in his prominent eye scar and permanent purple hair. He makes up a different story for it every time someone asks. The mystery of his parents’ deaths weighed heavy on him all his life, but he did his best to distract himself with his studies and his passion for storytelling and music. He could often be found busking around the city, and donating whatever he received to the orphans running about. He enjoyed his status and though his grandmother passed away when he turned 20, he was confident enough in his upbringing to navigate his newfound fortune. And then the whole Shaemoor thing happened, shortly after his 25h birthday. He helped defend Shaemoor village against attacking centaurs, gaining more notoriety. Cillian wasn’t surprised when Captain Logan Thackaray approached him afterward, and while so much of him wanted to retreat back to an uneventful, studious life, something pulled him to the ideas Logan presented: serving queen, serving country, serving people.Once he found out what happened to his parents, it all clicked into place. They had been part of the Shining Blade, defenders of the crown. They had died defending Kryta against the White Mantle. They had left him in the best hands they could, and his grandmother died keeping their secret. It’s no surprise that, when he was called upon by the Queen to defend her against an assassination plot, he eagerly lent his aid. From there, he joined the Vigil, though he did not know quite how much his life would change.Cillian wasn’t expecting to find a father figure in the stern Vigil Warmaster, Forgal Kernsson. He wasn’t expecting to meet a wandering, scholarly Sylvari named Trahearne and fall head over heels in love. He wasn’t expecting to find his old friend Demmi Beetlestone, suspecting that her father, Minister Caudecus, was up to something nefarious. He loses himself in the work of the Vigil, hiring someone to take care of his townhome back in Divinity’s Reach, and postponing his pursuit of music. He takes up new studies, studying under jewelers, tailors, and artificers. In his spare time, he learns to cook. Cillian helps a variety of the tribal races of Tyria, until he finally assists the Vigil in a very personal matter and ensures the signing of a peace treaty between the Humans and the Charr in Ebonhawke. After meeting Trahearne, Cillian tried to keep up contact via mail. He learned what he could about the Elder Dragons, and Trahearne’s quest to cleanse Orr. By the time Zhaitan attacked, Cillian had long given up on his old life. He helped unify the three orders of Tyria and they defeated Zhaitan’s lieutenant, the dragon Plaguebringer. The Battle of Claw Island cost Forgal his life and Cillian another father figure…but he gained a partner in Trahearne. Cillian becomes Commander of the Pact, and Trahearne his Marshal. He sheds personalities like dead skin, not knowing who he is underneath his trauma, and not knowing how to be vulnerable when so much depends on him.
